Joe Wicks Is Hosting Free PE Lessons For Kids

Missed Any of Joe Wicks' PE Lessons? Watch All of the Workouts Here

While we're all doing our part and staying indoors as much as possible, people are clubbing together to ensure the elderly are taken care of, friends are checking up on each other and hosting virtual Netflix binge-watching parties, and fitness professionals are keeping us as active as possible with live-streamed workouts.

Now that schools have (for the most part) will remain shut to students until September, Joe Wicks, otherwise known as The Body Coach, is hosting free PE lessons to help keep kids active and burn off some of that high energy. The sessions start from Monday 23 March at 9 a.m. each week morning, and they're entirely free.

The entrepreneur and father of two is known for his "Lean in 15" videos and subsequently his Body Coach 90 Day fitness and nutrition plans. In addition to his successful fitness programme, Wicks often creates free fitness content for his social media platforms, including Instagram live streams — his most recent being in collaboration with singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding.

In response to the spread of COVID-19, and in an effort to keep the nation fit during social distancing and isolation, Wicks is hosting 30 minute fun-and-engaging PE lessons each morning, live on his YouTube channel. "Parents are going to be under pressure next week and for 30 minutes a day I can take over and inspire and energise the kids to get active, bounce around and have fun," he wrote on his Instagram announcement.

Not only is Wicks hosting the weekday workouts for free, he's also pledged to donate the money he makes from streaming them on YouTube to the NHS. "So I've decided that as long as I'm the nations PE teacher, every single penny of the money generated on these videos is going to the place where we need it the most right now. All of it is going straight to the NHS, to support the real heroes right now."

So, if you're looking for another way to keep you little ones entertained and active, tune into Wicks's PE lessons each week morning and read on to watch the previous morning workouts, which we'll be uploading here daily.
