Joe Wicks (otherwise known as the Body Coach) announced earlier today that he's raised a staggering £200,000 for the NHS with his weekday PE lessons [1]. The fitness coach and dad of two has been leading workout classes every week day at 9 a.m. — which have racked up over 50 million views so far — in an effort to get the nation active first thing in the morning.

"The NHS isn't just a service. It's a community of people who are out there helping other people," Wicks said in an interview with Good Morning Britain. "It doesn't matter if you walk into that hospital, the richest man on earth or the poorest man in town. They love you, they take care of you, they make you feel safe. For that, I am eternally grateful. It was the first time ever I had a true experience of gratitude, and that's why I want to say a massive dedication today, because the NHS is a wonderful thing. I am proud to announce we have raised £200,000 for the NHS Charities Together." So if you've tuned in to one (or all) of Joe Wicks' PE lessons in the past seven weeks (yes, it's been that long already!), or bought a "PE With Joe" t-shirt, you had a part to play in the incredible £200,000 funds raised so far for the NHS.

But he's not stopping there: Wicks has set a new target of raising £500,000 through YouTube views and t-shirt sales. Oh, and did we mention he's been doing all of this while in and out of hospital (and surgery) with a hand injury. There go all of our excuses not to exercise out of the window.
