The Olympic Parade of Nations Follows the Japanese Alphabet — Here's When Teams Arrive

The Tokyo Olympics are officially underway! While the opening ceremony has already taken place — Japan is 13 hours ahead of the East Coast of the United States — the festivities will be aired again in primetime this evening, starting at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Those just tuning in will be treated to a Parade of Nations consisting of 205 teams, as they promenade through Tokyo's Olympic Stadium behind their country's flag.

This year's Parade of Nations follows the traditional procession order, with Greece leading the pack and most of the other countries arriving in alphabetical order, according to the host nation's language. The only exceptions are the Refugee Olympic Team, who were bumped to the second slot for the Tokyo Olympics, and the future and current hosts of the Summer Olympics — the United States, France, and Japan — who arrive last.

So, when can you expect to cheer on your team? Here's a complete list of the 205 teams participating in this year's Parade of Nations, in the order they appear.
