On Go Skateboarding Day [1], June 21, in Los Angeles, USA Skateboarding [2] announced the 12 skaters headed to Tokyo to compete in the Olympics for the very first time. The skaters rolled up to the USA Skateboarding press conference in style as they donned Nike's Team USA skateboarding uniforms. During the press conference, each skater shared why they love the sport and what representing Team USA means to them.
At the Olympics, there will be two disciplines represented, street and park [3], each with men's and women's events. Street is held on a course that mimics a real street, while park is held on a hollowed-out, bowl-like course.

Heimana Reynold
Reynold has been skating since he was six years old on the Hawaiian of Oahu. According to his USA Skatboarding profile [8], "he secured the 2019 Park World Championship title and dominated nearly every international skateboarding event" in 2019.

Zion Wright

Brighton Zeuner
One of the younger members of the Olympic team, Zeuner is a skater born ready for the Games [13]. She is the first Vans Park Series [14] world champion and won the gold medal in the X Games in both 2017 and 2018. Bryce Wettstein
With a wooden skating bowl in her back yard, it's clear that skateboarding is an important part of Wettstein's day-to-day life. The 2019 USA National Champion for women's park said Monday at the USA Skateboarding announcement [17] that "skateboarding makes you hone in on what something is for its true meaning." Jordyn Barratt

Jake Ilardi

Jagger Eaton

Alana Smith
The first female to ever do a backflip on a skateboard on the mini mega [30], Smith, is known for pushing skateboarding limits "regardless of gender" ever since her 2013 X Games silver medal [31]. Alexis Sablone
