In September 2021, three-time USA Diving Junior National Champion Emily Grund found out she was diagnosed with leukemia. In her Instagram post on September 12, she said, "Confident in my path and my team, no matter what it takes, I'm going to kick Leukemia's ass." And today she was able to share this amazing news: "Remission!"
Grund thanked everyone (including all of her friends, teammates, and her parents) for their support, visits, gifts, and kind words. She said, "They put their lives on hold for weeks just to make sure I wasn't alone." She also thanked her amazing set of doctors, nurses, PAs, NPs, and NAs. "You all made my stay at the hospital as comfortable as possible and kept me in a positive mindset."
