Yes, You Can Freeze Trader Joe's Pizza Dough

Can You Freeze Trader Joe's Pizza Dough? Here's the Deal

If you're a Trader Joe's fanatic, you know that the beloved grocery store chain carries multiple flavours of fresh, ready-made pizza dough. Making pizza from (almost) scratch can be a fun and healthy way to mix up your meals, but sometimes there's just not enough room in your fridge. So what's a savvy shopper to do?

Fortunately, you can freeze any pizza dough, Trader Joe's included. There's no prep needed – simply stick the package right in your freezer for up to three months. Pizza dough is one of the easiest yeast doughs to freeze, which makes it ideal for meal prepping or for planning less trips to the store.

When you're ready to use the dough, make sure to fully thaw it first. There are a few different ways you can do this. The best way to thaw pizza dough is in a covered, oiled bowl at room temperature for a few hours until it's ready to use. Another method that doesn't take long is defrosting the dough in a bowl of cold water. Make sure that the dough is sealed in plastic and leave the bowl on the counter. Then, change the water every 30 minutes until it's soft.

You can also thaw pizza dough in the fridge, but keep in mind that this will take longer – up to 12 hours. If you're really pressed for time, you can microwave the dough using the defrost setting, but be careful not to cook it! This may make your finished crust tough and give it an uneven texture.

If you're ready to make pizza night a weekly tradition, then Trader Joe's pizza dough has you covered. Toss it right in the freezer or divide it up to make mini pizzas with all your favourite toppings. The pizza possibilities are endless (and delicious)!
