A New Disney Eats Cookbook Is Coming, and It Has 100+ Everyday Recipes With a Magical Twist

28/08/2020 - 04:55 PM

If you're not only obsessed with food from the Disney parks and restaurants [1] but also love giving your regular food at home a bit of a Disney twist, then you're going to love this new Disney-inspired cookbook! Disney Eats: More than 150 Recipes for Everyday Cooking and Inspired Fun [2] by Joy Howard ($30) comes out Oct. 6, and the book is filled with recipes like Mulan [3]'s Blossom Stir Fry, Disney character-themed bento boxes, Frozen Banana Dalmatian Pops, Mrs. Potts Melon Salad, princess-themed smoothie bowls, and more.

If the front cover of the book makes the recipes look daunting, don't fret. POPSUGAR spoke to Howard about the level of skill required to make these recipes, and spoiler alert: anyone can do it. "Even as an experienced cook, I'm familiar with the frustration of a recipe not coming out the way it's described or how it looks in the accompanying picture," she said. "It was important to me to make sure ideas weren't too fussy and that everyone could get good results even if they're not highly experienced in the kitchen."

Keep reading to get an exclusive first look inside the new cookbook and some of its recipes, and then head to the kitchen to try them out yourself!

Mrs. Potts Melon Salad

Snack time just got an enchanting makeover with this recipe for Mrs. Potts Melon Salad. The presentation is so cute with a cantaloupe for the teapot that looks like the adorable Mrs. Potts. Once the cantaloupe is hollowed out, fill it with blueberries, watermelon, cantaloupe, and any other fruit you wish.

Pascal's Green Farro Risotto

Pascal from Tangled is a lovable sidekick who has the natural power to change his colour from green to any other colour in the rainbow. This recipe focuses on his normal green hue and combines farro, arugula, and lots of cheese to make a healthy alternative to regular risotto.

Fit for a Princess Smoothie Bowls

Breakfast just got a major upgrade with these princess-inspired smoothie bowls. There are three different princesses represented: Ariel, Moana, and Snow White. Each bowl has a different base and unique toppings based on the princess it corresponds with.
