Dua Lipa Shares Her Top 5 Restaurants, and a North London Seafood Spot Is Her Fave

03/02/2022 - 04:35 PM

Dua Lipa's long-awaited newsletter [1], "Service95", dropped this week and it consisted of a number of curated articles and recommendations from the artist. Introducing the newsletter, Lipa said that "I'll also share personal recommendations and discoveries (this long-time habit of creating lists and sharing them with loved ones is what inspired Service95 – just call me your cultural concierge). So, with that in mind, seeing as I've just left the UK to begin my tour, here are some of my favourite London food haunts."

The singer went on to share her top five London restaurants (just in time for a fancy Valentine's Day [2] dinner, might we add), and the list does not disappoint. Kicking off with Westerns Laundry, North London's famed seafood restaurant, the list also included the likes of Indian restaurant Gymkhana; Ottolenghi's Fitzrovia location, Rovi; and Persian restaurant Berenjak; followed by Lore of the Land, a cosy West End pub serving seasonal sharing plates.

Read on for more of an in-depth look into the five Dua Lipa-approved restaurants to visit in London.

Westerns Laundry

Located in North London, Westerns Laundry is a seafood restaurant that's open for lunch on Saturdays and Sundays and dinner from Tuesday to Sunday. According to the restaurant's Instagram page, it also features a "covered courtyard championing regenerative producers & low intervention cellar."

Gymkhana

Gymkhana is an Indian restaurant located in Mayfair, serving seasonal dishes alongside a classic and contemporary Indian menu. Open for dinner from Tuesday to Sunday, and lunch on Wednesday to Sunday, the restaurant also offers Michelin-starred meal boxes for customers to try the cuisine from the comfort of their own homes.

Rovi

One of many Ottolenghi restaurants in London, Rovi is located in Fitzrovia and boasts a 90-seat capacity, arguably the biggest of all the Ottolenghi locations. In terms of the menu, Rovi's website states that it "serves a menu with vegetables at its heart but with a fresh focus on fermentation and cooking over fire."

Berenjak

Berenjak is a home-style Persian restaurant located in Soho, not too far from the iconic Shaftesbury Avenue. According to the website, the founder "wanted to evoke the style of a rustic hole-in-the-wall eatery from Tehran, and reinterpret signature dishes using seasonal British produce."

Lore of the Land

Lore of the Land is a traditional British pub in the West End, focused on serving seasonal plates and sharing boards, alongside craft beers, spirits, and French wines.
