I'm Obsessed With These Colourful Vegan Smoothie Bowls — Cookie Monster Nice Cream?!

Sure, Instagram smoothie bowls look gorgeous when you're swiping through your dash. But, if you're like me, you've probably tried recreating them at home and ended up slurping your smoothie with a spoon out of spite, refusing to admit to yourself that you added too much liquid. To save me (and anyone else) from eating any more frozen soup, plant-based foodie Emily Daniels — aka @wholesomehedonista on Instagram — is sharing all her recipes for creamy smoothie bowls, and they're all so thick they basically qualify as nice cream.

Colourful and easy to make, the smoothies only require a few ingredients and a high-powered blender to throw together. But Emily adds a twist by adding healthy powders and ingredients that turn them into neon and pastel works of art almost too pretty to eat. (She even has a banana-free recipe!) Personally, I have my eye on the coconut Cookie Monster Nice Cream Bowl and the Carrot Cake Smoothie Bowl, but you can blend your way through the whole rainbow of smoothie bowls she's whipped up. Check out some of her sweetest recipes here and remember to chop your bananas before you freeze them to make the blending process easier.

Nice Cream: Tart cherries and raspberries
Toppings: Naturally sweetened dairy-free chocolate covered strawberries, coconut whipped cream, and dried rose petals

Nice Cream: 1/4-1/2 cup roasted hazelnuts or hazelnut butter, 1/4 cup almond milk or canned coconut milk, 5 frozen bananas, and 2 tablespoons cacao or cocoa powder
Toppings: Nutella, chopped hazelnuts

Nice Cream: 4 frozen bananas, 1/2 cup frozen blueberries, 1/4-1/3 cup almond milk or coconut milk, 1 tablespoon blue spirulina powder, 1 tablespoon pink pitaya powder, 1 scoop of coconut cream, and 2 tablespoons maple syrup

Nice Cream: 6 Frozen Bananas, 1/2 cup coconut cream, and 1 heaping spoonful of blue spirulina powder

Nice Cream: 1/4 cup plant milk, 4-5 frozen bananas, 1 teasbpoon blue spirulina, and 1 teaspoon Unicorn Superfoods berrylicious blend

Nice Cream: Mango, Pineapple, orange juice, and a sprinkle of blue spirulina
Toppings: Papaya, shredded coconut, hemp hearts, almond butter, or frozen blueberries

Nice Cream: 1/4-1/2 cup fresh papaya (or other juicy fruit), 1 large scoop canned coconut milk cream, 1/4 cup pineapple (or other frozen fruit), 3 cups frozen mango (or other fruit with low water content), 2-4 tablespoons maple syrup (optional), and a splash of almond milk (or liquid of choice)

Nice Cream: Juice of 1 orange (or almond milk), 1/4 papaya, 2 cups frozen mango chunks, and turmeric (optional)

Nice Cream: banana, carrot, walnut, sweet potato, cinnamon, and nutmeg
Toppings: Cheesecake balls, shredded coconut, cinnamon, walnuts, dates, almond butter

Nice Cream: 6 frozen bananas, 1/2 cup coconut milk/cream, and vanilla bean (optional)
Toppings: Almond butter or other nut butter, chocolate chips

Nice Cream: 6 frozen bananas and 1/4 fresh pink dragon fruit or 1/2 cup canned coconut cream

Nice Cream: 5-6 frozen bananas, 1/4 cup almond milk or canned coconut milk/cream, and 1 teaspoon blue spirulina
Toppings: Chocolate chip cookies, chocolate syrup
