If you have an Instagram account, you've heard of Great Jones. The brand's kitschy product names — their crown jewel product is a much-loved dutch oven called The Dutchess [1] — and bold aesthetic have helped turn even the most basic of kitchen items into exciting status purchases.

Though I'd heard the hype, I had some doubts about paying a premium for trendy kitchenwares. But because I'm a sucker for vibrant colours (. . . and compelling branding, let's be real), I sprang for the Holy Sheet Pan [2] ($35) in the Blueberry colorway when Great Jones dropped a bakeware line in late 2020. Reader, I'm pleased to report that it quickly became one of my favourite and most-used household items within days.

When compared to the other sheet pans I've owned for years, this bright blue Great Jones number stands out in both quality and design. It's sturdy and a smidge heavier than other options in my cabinets, which means it has yet to show any signs of damage, despite being stored alongside wire racks. Plus, the bottom doesn't puff up when baking in high heat unlike some flimsier options out there. And if you've ever had to scrape burnt pieces off a new pan, rest assured the nonstick coating on the Holy Sheet pan is impressively slick, even after handwashing it several times. (It's dishwasher safe, but I'm extra protective since it's the most expensive sheet pan I own!) While I've been using my Holy Sheet half pan to stress bake my way through 100 Cookies by Sarah Kieffer [3] ($11, originally $28), it could easily accommodate quick sheet-pan dinners.

Available in two cheerful hues (vibrant Blueberry and evergreen Broccoli) and delivering on durability, I'll admit the Holy Sheet pan easily drafted me into the Great Jones fan club. Sure, not all Instagram-famous kitchen products live up to the hype, but this under-$50 gem of a half sheet certainly does.
