Move Over, Hot Chocolate Bombs — Tea Bombs Are Here, and They're So Pretty

As POPSUGAR editors, we independently select and write about stuff we love and think you'll like too. If you buy a product we have recommended, we may receive affiliate commission, which in turn supports our work.

Hot chocolate bombs have been one of our favourite recent food trends (we could watch videos of them melting all day!), but even we'll admit that sometimes we want something a little lighter. Thankfully, tea bombs are now a thing, and wow, are they beautiful!

Tea bombs are made with melted sugar or isomalt that's placed in silicone molds to make the ball shape. After the sugar is completely set and hardened, you can fill one side with loose tea, tea bags, or flowers before bringing the two sides of the bomb together. And just like hot chocolate bombs, pouring hot liquid over these will melt the exterior shell to give way to a dreamy cup of tea.

Making tea bombs yourself is pretty easy as it requires simple ingredients, and the only limit is your own imagination. The main thing to note is that melting sugar or isomalt can be a tricky, so just be extra careful. And if you're not in the mood to make the bombs yourself and would rather buy them, you can do that, too! We found a handful of tea bombs to choose from at reasonable prices. Keep reading to watch how-to videos for making tea bombs and to shop some premade ones. Happy sipping!
