Joanna Gaines Is Sharing Some of Her New Cookbook Recipes on YouTube, and OMG, the French Silk Pie

04/04/2020 - 04:20 PM

Looking for new, fun, relaxing activities [1] to keep busy right now? Same! If you're living with roommates [2], a significant other [3], your parents, or by yourself, Joanna Gaines is here to bring a little bit of delicious joy to your days spent at home, no matter who they're with. Joanna recently launched her own YouTube cooking series on her Magnolia channel, where she shares some of her favourite recipes [4] she makes for her family (and there are more than few cameos from her adorable kids!). And all of the recipes Joanna shares are from her cookbooks, Magnolia Table [5] and Magnolia Table, Volume 2 [6], which comes out April 7.

Not only does Joanna's cooking series provide us with a preview of her *official* upcoming cooking show [7] on her and husband Chip's Magnolia Network, it's also a great reminder to try and make the best of the current situation and reconnect with yourself and your loved ones. In a recent Instagram post, Joanna shared that there's no better place to be right now than home [8]: "In the midst of all that's going on, we believe that there is room for connection, creativity, laughter, and inspiration." Agreed, Jo! Keep reading for five Magnolia-approved recipes you can make at home right now.

Jo's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Joanna shares how to bake her incredibly easy and delicious chocolate chip cookies in both regular and cookie skillet form (the Gaines family decided that chewy cookies were better than fluffy cookies).

Gaines Family Chili

Joanna's chili recipe is even more simple to make than her cookies! This meal is perfect for right now, because most of the ingredients used are canned goods. Joanna pours the chili on top of a Frito chip base, sprinkles some cheese on top, and pairs the dish with a side of jalapeƱo cornbread (can you say yum?).

Courgette Bread

Joanna shows us all how to make supersimple courgette bread! And while this recipe might sound a little iffy to some, it's actually incredibly delicious. Joanna tops her bread with warm butter and pairs it with a side of eggs, which is basically the perfect easy breakfast (just make sure you use that 9x9 pan, it matters).

Spinach Tortellini Soup

In this video, Joanna shares the recipe for spinach tortellini soup from her new cookbook, Magnolia Table, Volume 2. She modifies her own recipe due to not having certain ingredients right now, which is perfect for the rest of us who also are making do with what we have!

French Silk Pie

In another Magnolia Table, Volume 2 sneak peek, Jo makes her famous french silk pie, which she says is "the most requested dessert" in her house. And, um, it's not hard to see why! Between the smooth chocolatey centre to the crunch pie crust, we can't wait to make this for ourselves.
