This Easy Strawberry Daiquiri Recipe Will Make You Feel Like You're on Holiday With Every Sip

The first time I tried a strawberry daiquiri was two years ago on a family holiday in Arizona. I was stoked to order the summertime beverage because it was my first time lounging at a hotel's poolside bar — I had just turned 21! Honestly, I wasn't 100 percent sure what I was getting myself into; I picked the drink out of the lineup because the lady before me asked for one, and it looked amazingly delicious. And let me tell ya', that first sip did not disappoint!

Since that vacay, I've been determined to re-create the frozen drink at home. During my experimenting, I found that frozen fruit is better than combining fresh fruit and ice. The reason is your daiquiri is more than likely going to melt — this is a drink you enjoy, not toss back! — and when you use frozen fruit, your drink doesn't become watered-down from melting ice. And the easy thing about daiquiris is there are very few ingredients. Basically it's your choice of frozen fruit, light rum (flavoured rum if you so prefer), sugar, and lime juice. It's that simple!

Whether you're chilling poolside or cracking open a new book on the porch, kick back, relax, and sip on a sweet refreshing strawberry daiquiri. This is definitely a recipe you'll want to make again and again.

Strawberry Daiquiri

Original Recipe

The Best Strawberry Daiquiri Recipe

Ingredients

  1. Salt or sugar for rim
    2 limes
    3 ounces of light rum
    1 1/2 teaspoons of sugar
    4 ounces frozen strawberries
    Fresh strawberries for garnish

Directions

  1. Cut one lime into wedges. Wet rim of glass with a lime wedge, and line with either salt or sugar. I recommend sugar! Set other wedges aside for garnishing.
  2. In a blender, squeeze the juice out of one full lime. Add remaining ingredients. Blend until smooth, but not too long or else it will get runny — about 15-30 seconds.
  3. Serve in a sugar- or salt-rimmed glass, and garnish with strawberries and lime! Enjoy!
