Turmeric Gin and Ginger Cocktail Recipe
Turmeric In a Cocktail? It's the Unexpected Ingredient You Didn't Know You Needed
As someone who loves gin, fresh lime, and ginger beer, I was stoked to come across this recipe for a turmeric, gin, and ginger cocktail. Ginger beer and lime juice are a classic combination, and I love the earthy, piney taste of gin. Of course, there was one interesting ingredient in this recipe that I was most excited to try — turmeric! Needless to say, I was a bit sceptical about how turmeric would translate into a cocktail. To my surprise (and delight!), it was absolutely delicious.
Turmeric is a spice best known for its gorgeous orange colour. A staple in Asian cuisine, turmeric has a long and rich history as a go-to spice in curry, mustard powder, and many recipes involving vegetables and meat. And, as it turns out, turmeric also has some pretty nice health benefits. From helping with inflammation to increasing a body's antioxidant capacity, this mighty spice is delicious and nutritious.
This cocktail is super easy to make and tastes great. The flavours of gin, lime juice, and ginger beer are already tasty on their own, but the turmeric really takes it up a notch, both flavour-wise and aesthetically. So if you're looking for a new cocktail to try out, I definitely recommend giving this one a shot.
