These eco-friendly candles set themselves apart by shunning the use of paraffin wax, which, according to a study by South Carolina State University, can give off dangerous fumes which could contribute to the development of health issues in those who burn them frequently.
"Natural waxes, on the other hand, produce about a tenth of the soot produced by a paraffin candle and do not contain any toxic chemicals. They are also biodegradable and free from pesticides, herbicides, and any genetically modified material," explained Claire Barnes, general manager of Australian fragrance house ECOYA.
And it's not just the planet and your health that will benefit but your bank balance, too. "Soy wax candles burn 30 percent cooler than paraffin counterparts, offering a burn time up to a third longer," Barnes highlighted, meaning they often represent better value for money, too.
