Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux's Eclectic LA Home Is Sexy as Hell, Obviously

Jennifer Aniston's Home in Architectural Digest 2018

Jennifer Aniston tells Architectural Digest that, when it comes to interior design: "Sexy is important, but comfort is essential." This is a little unexpected because, even so, her modern LA mansion is seriously worth lusting over. The 48-year-old actress opens up about her aesthetic preferences and gives the magazine a tour of her home she shares with Justin Theroux in its March issue.

"If I wasn't an actress, I'd want to be a designer. I love the process," Jennifer says. "There's something about picking out fabrics and finishes that feeds my soul." The current home she lives in was completed by architect A. Quincy Jones in 1965 and Jennifer bought the property in 2011. Though the home was a tad dramatic for her taste — the front door was painted red, for example — Jennifer said she immediately "felt a connection."

With interior designer Stephen Shadley, Jennifer has achieved her ideal aesthetic. "Jen is drawn to wood, stone, and bronze, materials that have real substance and depth," says Shadley. "No matter how beautiful or glamorous something is, it has to be warm and inviting."

Her husband might have also had a little input. Jennifer says, "Justin definitely wanted to be involved, so there was a bit of a learning curve for me on how to include another voice in the design process." The couple seems to have figured it out, however, as Jennifer now boasts about the home's natural "flow." She explains: "Every corner you turn, you have an experience. Everywhere you look, you get a vista. We worked very hard to get that flow right."
