The one part of my daily routine that I value the most is my sleep. Nothing can replace a good night's rest, and waking up on the wrong side of the bed can often make or break your day. And that's exactly what happened a few months ago, I woke up and felt a sharp pain in my neck, and it wouldn't go away for a day or two. After a trip to the chiropractor, I learned that my pillow was not doing me any favours. I needed proper neck and head support, and as a side sleeper, my pillow was too flimsy and flat for my needs.

As I was browsing on Amazon because TikTok took me there, I came across the Pillow Cube Pro ($88, originally $110), a memory foam pillow created for side sleepers, and I was instantly intrigued. I got to test it out, and my sleep has never been the same since. It comes in three thickness levels, four inches, five inches, and six inches, I'm 5'1 and petite, so I got the one with a four-inch thickness. The moment I laid my head on the pillow, I just knew how Goldilocks felt - it was just right. The pillow felt firm, supporting my neck and shoulders yet soft and plush on my head and face. It's the only pillow I want to use — everything else quite literally falls flat. In fact, I want to travel with it, even if I have to pay extra for baggage.

What makes it so great? The first night I tested out the Pillow Cube Pro ($88, originally $110), I never felt such instant comfort. I slept so peacefully, without any discomfort or the need to readjust in the middle of the night. The rectangular, long shape of this pillow is perfect for switching sides. All I have to do was turn over, and the other side of my body got the love it deserves. I have a habit of sleeping with my shoulders scrunched up towards my ears like I'm shrugging. I noticed that this position causes the muscle tension and pain I have been experiencing on the sides of my neck. The pillow prevents that by filling that gap between the shoulder and the neck. Even when I lay on my back, it cradles my head with cushioning for my upper back, shoulders, and neck. It fills and adds support in all the right areas, just like a puzzle piece.

I got such quality, uninterrupted sleep that I even woke up before my alarm clock went off. The more I slept on it, the more I noticed how the quality of my sleep improved. It was so much easier to wake up in the morning without feeling too tired and in a fog, making it easier to have a productive day. I never realised how much the wrong type of pillow could physically affect my body and the quality of life I was living. The Pillow Cube Pro ($88, originally $110) is an essential part of my nighttime routine, and it's worth every penny if you're a side sleeper.
