Rainn Wilson's Home Is a Whooole Lot Nicer Than Schrute Farms — Take a Look Inside

02/10/2020 - 07:00 PM

Rainn Wilson opened the doors of his California home to Architectural Digest [1], and we're delighted to report that it's lightyears cozier and more welcoming than Schrute Farms. The actor and his wife, writer Holiday Reinhorn, recently moved from suburban Los Angeles to a new residence near the coast in SoCal, and every detail of the house is "perfectenschlag," if we do say so ourselves. Situated on five-and-a-half acres of land, the abode has indoor-outdoor tile floors, antique wood accents every corner you turn, and tons of artwork that holds meaning to the couple.

The best part? It looks like Rainn hasn't let go of his assistant (to the) regional manager past [2], as he has some Dwight Schrute memorabilia set up in his office, including a nameplate, fan art, and a bobblehead. Ahead, watch Rainn and Holiday give a tour of their rustic home, and keep reading to take a closer look at the coolest decor features.

Let's step inside, shall we?

The home's original owners incorporated gorgeous wooden beams from Mexico to create a Spanish mission-style feel.

Rainn and Holiday completely gutted the kitchen to make it more modern and open.

Fun fact: the chandelier is made out of repurposed Coke and wine bottles!

This wooden table was handmade by Nick Offerman, aka Ron Swanson from Parks and Recreation. He and Rainn go way back, which we absolutely love.

The dining room is filled with Haitian art as a nod to Lidè Haiti, a nonprofit Rainn and Holiday started to help educate adolescent girls in the Caribbean country.

Meanwhile, one wall of the dining room has this enormous piece of collectible gas station art on it.

The velvet couch! The layered rugs! The colourful pillows! This living room is cosy AF.

"Oh look, what's here? SAG awards . . . wonder who those belong to!"

This enormous yellow bookcase is a book-lover's dream come true.

Here's the wood-paneled media room, which used to be a saloon-style bar.

It's got some one-of-a-kind decorations in it, like this little fox . . .

. . . and this wooden heart from a German medical school.

Yep, Rainn has a Dwight K. Schrute nameplate proudly situated on his office desk, along with hand-drawn art made by The Office fans.

Opposite of Rainn's desk is the last piece of art his late father worked on.

Oh hey there, Dwight bobblehead!

The master bedroom is simple and understated.

The desk where Holiday does her fiction writing has a so-called "wigging chair" and gets plenty of natural light.

Meanwhile, the master bathroom has his and hers toilets and a private garden right outside.

Outside their home, they've got a separate "pig palace" for their pigs, Amy and Snorty.

Hi there, Amy and Snorty!
