3 Editors Put Eva Longoria's New Cookware Line to the Test

As POPSUGAR editors, we independently select and write about stuff we love and think you'll like too. If you buy a product we have recommended, we may receive affiliate commission, which in turn supports our work.

Eva Longoria is not only a talented actress, director, and producer, but she's also a bonafide chef. Her love of cooking and food inspired her to write a cookbook and create her own cookware set. With Risa, she aimed to create something nontoxic yet high-performing, encourageing people to cook and eat good food with loved ones. The line comes with an 11-inch pan with a 4.5-quart capacity, an 11-inch pot with an eight-quart capacity, accompanying lids, and two silicone pot holders. The cookware line comes in three colours: a deep navy blue, a cool-toned grey, and a bright ivory white.

The nonstick cookware is made of aluminium with a sol-gel ceramic coating that makes food glide with ease. The bottom of the cookware has a honeycomb induction plate for even heat distribution. The pots and pans work on all range types, including gas, electric, and induction, and the line is even oven safe up to 400 degrees. The cookware also has ergonomic handles that serve as a lid rest.

If you're wondering how the Risa cookware stands up against the rest, three of our editors tested it out and shared their honest opinions. Keep reading to see what we cooked up and our reviews of the pot and pan set from Risa.

Risa Cookware Set in Deep Blue

"I've never been mistaken for a talented chef in my life, and I would never claim to be a talented chef. But! The Risa Cookware Set in Deep Blue ($225) absolutely boosted my confidence. I've always been intimidated by two parts of cooking: the clean-up afterwards, and anything involving chicken. But I'm determined to start cooking some very basic weeknight dinner recipes that my wildly picky 5-year-old might consider trying. She loves chicken nuggets, so I hoped RISA's non-stick surface would help eliminate any impossible-to-remove oil spills or tough residue from this eye-catching Chicken Piccata recipe I saw the Today Show's Dylan Byers using with her own little one. Mission accomplished! After two incredibly messy attempts (both successful from a taste perspective!) to recreate Byers's magic using RISA's gorgeous dark blue pan — deep enough to stack multiple levels of meat, veggies, and cooking broth — I am officially a talented chicken dinner chef. Certified by one 5-year-old and more to come." — Molly Stout, Executive Editor, POPSUGAR Lifestyle

Risa Pan in Cool Grey

"For someone who only cooks for themselves, I've tried a lot of cookware brands. At this point, I know a high quality pan when I see one, and immediately the Risa Pan in Cool Grey ($125, originally $150) sold me. Not only is it incredibly stylish, but it has a non-stick, sol-gel ceramic coating that glistens in the light. It's not heavy, heats evenly, and has cooked every meal from sandwiches to stirfry to sauteed vegetables with ease. (And has only required a rinse of water for cleanup). The best part though, is that its dishwasher safe — which is huge considering most non-stick pans' coating wears off in the dishwasher. As someone who always burns themselves, I love that this pan comes with two durable rubber potholders to prevent heat transfer. Overall, I'm happy to confirm Eva Longoria did an incredible job with this cookware line — The Risa Pan is a keeper." — Haley Lyndes, Assistant Editor, POPSUGAR Commerce

Risa Cookware Set in Natural Ivory

My first impression of the Risa Cookware Set in Natural Ivory ($225) was how lightweight it felt, especially considering the large size of the pot and pan. It's easy to maneuver, and the handles are conveniently located. What I love about the pan is that it has a decent amount of depth that can replace the need for a pot. I can fry an egg, cook some curries, and even make saucy pasta all in one pan. The pot is great for cooking soups, stews, and curries in bulk, as well as a quick one-pot pasta. The cookware set has an incredible nonstick surface; food glides around like a slip-and-slide. Cleaning the cookware was a breeze since barely any food was burnt or stuck onto it, and most of it came off with a quick rinse. Since I cook for myself, the cookware set is large enough for me to meal prep a whole week's worth of food. I loved using this set for all my cooking adventures. — Anvita Reddy, Assistant Editor, POPSUGAR Commerce
