Sentimental Gifts, Fireplaces, and a Vibrating Bed: Inside Travis Barker's Love Nest

Travis Barker has entered a new era. In addition to his marriage to Kourtney Kardashian, the drummer recently remodelled the Calabasas, CA, home he's lived in for over 15 years, opting for a more zen layout differing from his prior flashy aesthetic. The love nest, which Barker showed off in Architectural Digest, now boasts minimal decor, neutral colours, several fireplaces, and framed family photos.

"I've had homes with lots of flashy cars, murals, and bikes hanging from the ceiling. But with three children of my own, plus Kourtney's kids, this place felt right for this moment in my life," Barker told the magazine. "I wanted a house where I can rest and enjoy my family, a place where we can create memories."

Barker's residential refresh came courtesy of Los Angeles interior designer Waldo Fernandez, who was referred by Barker's mother-in-law Kris Jenner, of course. "Travis wasn't looking for a major statement or any kind of caricatured rock-star style," Fernandez said. "He wanted a home that would allow him to think and be at peace with himself."

Despite its tranquil flourishes, Barker's home certainly still has elements reflective of his career and rockstar persona, including a concrete ping-pong table, vibrating bed, pop-culture artwork, and at-home studio attended by various famous faces. See photos of the home ahead, and watch the complete tour featuring an appearance by Kardashian.

Barker's tranquil living room features one of the home's many fireplaces, as well as art from Raymond Pettibon and Wes Lang. The room originally had a window wall, which was replaced by a glass door in the remodel.

Shown here is a painting gifted to Barker from Kardashian showing the record spines of his favourite albums, including Pink Floyd's "The Wall" and Dr. Dre's "The Chronic."

Pictured here is the formal dining room where Barker and Kardashian will convene with their combined six children.

Barker's bark candlestick holders were an old gift from Kardashian. "Way before we were together we would spoil each other, and buy each other Christmas presents and birthday presents," he said. "They've stayed in this room."

In the remodel, Barker's kitchen was opened up with the removal of a wall. Everything in the kitchen is also made to look like a cabinet, including the fridge and freezer. "I love that it's kind of industrial," Barker said.

Barker is proud of his kitchen's matcha station, which includes a Stagg EKG Electric Kettle, cinnamon, nutmeg, and other accoutrements.

Also located in the kitchen is a less formal dining table, where Barker and his family will sit for breakfast or normal weeknights. "This is where we eat on the not-special days," he said.

The cosy television room was the setting for Barker and Kardashian's last New Year's Eve, during which they played games and worked on a puzzle. Barker said he also often writes songs on the couch shown here. The room used to have a vaulted ceiling, but Barker had it flatted out to create a cleaner line.

The centrepiece of Barker's entertainment room is a cement ping-pong table. "It's really heavy. A team of eight people came in and installed it," he said. "There was a point during quarantine where we would just play every day and have the coolest ping-pong tournaments."

Barker has a collection of BMX bikes, and while the majority are at his studio, on display here are two rare models by Dior. The white one was a regift from Kendall Jenner, while the gold bike was one that LeBron James had evidently ordered, but never picked up at the store.

The entertainment room's bar is stocked with red Baccarat champagne flutes embossed with Barker and Kardashian's name, as well as the date of their engagement, which also fell on the year-anniversary of the day they first became romantic. Underneath is #forever.

Barker's home studio is equipped with a drum set and multiple guitars. Artists who've been in the studio include Avril Lavigne, Gunna, Machine Gun Kelly, and Willow Smith.

In lieu of traditional seats, Barker's at-home movie theatre has two incredibly comfortable-looking couches. "It's like a huge bed once you take all the pillows off," Barker said. "If we're just having a night in and it's a weekend and I don't have the kids, we usually fall asleep in here."

Barker's bedroom consists of neutral colours, a selection of sentimental objects, and another one of the home's fireplaces. "If I'm home," he said, "the fireplace is definitely on."

On his nightstand is a skeleton plate that Kardashian made at Colour Me Mine. Beside it is a Goop candle that states, "This smells like Kourtney's orgasm."

Barker said he was "very proud" of Penelope Disick's portrait of him, which is now framed in the bedroom.

Barker's bed is remote controlled, and in addition to being able to lift the feet or head of the bed, it also vibrates. Do with that information what you will.

Shown here is just one of Barker's closets, and this one is primarily filled with vintage t-shirts.

Barker remembers being impressed by the hotel-quality pool when he first moved into his home. The backyard went on to serve as the setting for "out of control" parties with professional-grade sound systems and scaffolding over the pool. "I would never do it again," he said. "I like this life better."

Lastly, here is Barker's garage, which houses cars both vintage and new, including a Buick Grand National and Rolls Royce Cullinan.
