If you're one of the few still holding on to your fake Christmas tree a month after the holidays, then first of all, I'm so proud of you. And second, I have a solution so you can dodge any annoying decor questions about why you haven't taken your Christmas tree down — until 15 Feb., that is. Recently, more and more TikTokers and Instagram users have shown off their Valentine's Day trees, or the Christmas trees they've now decorated with candy hearts, red ribbon, and other cute Valentine's Day decor because they want to keep the decorative, festive holiday spirit going . . . or they don't have the heart (or the energy) to take the tree down.
I first came across someone's Valentine's Day tree as I scrolled through my Instagram Explore page recently, and I could instantly see the appeal. This V-Day tree was all decked out, complete with heart ornaments, pink garland, and more. Truly, it was stunning. And a look through even more of the Valentine's Day Christmas trees people have posted shows a tree design for every taste: minimal and monochrome, metallic and vivid, and everything in between.
Who says you have to pack everything away in December anyway? Taylor Swift said we can leave the Christmas lights up 'til January, and for some, February is even better. Why not save yourself some of the energy of lugging the whole tree away and, instead, use your tree as a fun way to get creative for Valentine's Day and every holiday after? If you've already boxed up your tree or left it curbside the second after presents were opened, that's all right.
