It took me a year (and long nights of contemplation) to buy a new couch, but as soon I experienced West Elm's Modern Chesterfield Leather Sofa, I knew it would be a great addition to our reading nook.
You might already know West Elm as a purveyor of high-quality modern home goods you'll treasure for years. It was the first place we looked at when my husband and I decided to replace our 25-year-old armless loveseat (a gift from his grandfather). We were on the hunt for a statement piece that would elevate our loft and bring some warmth and texture to the space. It also had to match our interior design aesthetic, which draws inspiration from modern farmhouse and maximalist styles.

Our prized possession came wrapped in protective fabric and it was assembled in 15 minutes via white glove service. As soon as the two men left, I proceeded to sit, work, and lay on it, which is something I now do daily.
The Chesterfield sofa adds sophistication to the room, while making the apartment feel more welcoming. The leather upholstery and button tufting are polished, and the earthy hue perfectly complements my plant garden.
While it's not your "Netflix and chill" type of couch because of the firmer seat, it's comfortable enough for short and sweet naps, Zoom calls, journaling sessions, and afternoon drinks. We've only had it for three weeks, and it's already become our favourite hangout spot.
