Aquarius is the sign of friendship, so friends are just as important as lovers. You probably have a circle of eclectic buds and may belong to one or more groups who share your interests. "This year Jupiter's positive influence will likely expand your connections with other people, perhaps as a result of travelling – 2019 is a good year to take a trip with a tour group to a foreign country, particularly in March or November," she says. Uranus could also change a relationship or let you see someone in a new light. "Be careful not to let strong opinions cause arguments or upsets with friends when Mars sparks controversy in March, July, and December," she cautions.

"Gentle, imaginative Pisceans enjoy the company of artists, musicians, and other creative types. You need friends who are supportive of you, but sometimes let people you care about take advantage of you – which could happen in 2019, when Neptune in your sign exaggerates your idealism," she says. This year Jupiter's excessive and expansive energy could bring people into your orbit who may not be good for you, so watch out. "A favourable contact with Saturn, however, can help you use discretion and stand your ground," she says. Male friends could also be assets in June, September, and December.

Aries people enjoy friendships that involve a lot of activity, fun and games, and adventure. This year begins with all that and more, when Mars (your ruling planet) and Uranus are positioned in your sign. "But you could experience a bit of conflict, too," she says. "A positive contact from Jupiter (through November) will likely expand your circle of friends – you might even do some travelling together or befriend someone from another part of the world, [but] Saturn may test one or more of your relationships, and you'll have to decide who your real friends are."

Taurus people are loyal and reliable, where they seek stable, long-term friendships and may remain close to childhood pals throughout their lives. "This year a favourable contact from Saturn could reconnect you with an old friend or strengthen a relationship with someone from your past," she says. Yet, be careful. "Tension or disagreements might crop up in mid-February, March, July, and mid-August – fortunately, you're usually pretty easy-going, but stressful influences from Mars and Uranus could test your ability to be flexible and open-minded," she says.

"Sociable Geminis usually have plenty of friends, and this year Jupiter's expansive energy could bring even more into your network – especially in March, June, and the Fall when Venus highlights your attractiveness," she says. Use a bit of discrimination, however, and opt for quality not quantity. You enjoy sharing ideas and information with other people and are rarely at a loss for words, but be careful not to gossip or spread untruths during March, July, and November, when Mercury (your ruling) planet is retrograde, which can cause misunderstandings with people, she warns.

Cancers are protective toward their friends and prefer close, supportive relationships, where they feel emotionally secure. "This year Saturn may present some challenges with friends, perhaps resulting in a cooling or distancing between you," she warns. Try not to take offence too quickly and work to let go of grudges. "It's also possible that you'll be asked to provide help or extra care to a friend in need. Uranus could bring someone new into your orbit or change a friendship in a positive way during 2019," she says. Plan social events in April, July, and October when Venus inspires happy interactions and fun, as well.

Leos attract friends who are drawn to their colourful, outgoing personality, and they're probably seen as the leader or the "star" of the group. "This year good vibes from Jupiter could increase your popularity and bring even more admirers into your circle," she says. Good news! Yet, "Saturn, however, reminds you not to let this go to your head – share the spotlight. August is likely to be a busy time for you, when the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars are all in your sign – this could be a good time to go on holiday with friends or visit someone who lives far away," she adds.

Congenial Libras make friends easily and enjoy social activities of all kinds. "Jupiter's positive influence in 2019 may spark opportunities to expand your horizons and share pleasant occasions with friends, especially during January, June, and September when Venus (your ruling planet) sends good energy your way," she says. Yet, there are some lows. "Stressful contacts with Saturn and Pluto, however, may bring tests that limit or strain a friendship. Perhaps someone you care about moves away or can't spend as much time with you as you'd like," she says. Work or other responsibilities may place restrictions on the amount of socialising you do this year, too.

"Scorpios are private people who only let a few individuals get close to them. This year a favourable contact with Saturn can strengthen bonds between you and your friends, allowing you to trust and rely on each other more than usual," she says. You may also reconnect with someone from your past or develop a friendship through a work-related situation in 2019. "Mars could stir up stress or conflicts with a friend or acquaintance in March, July, or December – try not to let differences, jealousy, or suspicion drive a wedge between you," she cautions.

Fun-loving and gregarious Sagittarians enjoy going places, playing sports, and having adventures with friends. This year, Jupiter (your ruling planet) accelerates your already active social life and brings opportunities. "Travel with friends could be in store for you in 2019, too, particularly in January, July, and August when Mars revs up your wanderlust. Problems could arise, however, if you let play interfere with work or other responsibilities, or you blow your budget on trips, partying, or expensive toys," she says.
