Talking to my mom tonight (who is a registered nurse) and she was telling me about how strict some hospitals are when it...Posted by Jordan Miller on Tuesday, July 25, 2017
When Jordan Miller was talking to his mum, Misti Johnson, he was surprised to learn something new about her job as a registered nurse: some hospitals are very strict when it comes to tattoos and their employees.
This statement left Jordan confused because when he looks at his mum in her scrubs, the visible ink on her arms isn't what he sees. "I've seen my mum pull a lady out of a car before it fills with smoke and she suffocates. I've seen her do stitches on an injured person on the side of the road following a car accident," he wrote on Facebook. "I've seen her come home after a 12-hour shift, dead tired after dealing with an abusive patient all day, and get back up and do it again the next day. She's come home after holding a baby in her hands and watching it take their last breath. She's saved a drug addicts life after overdosing in the hospital bed."
If there's anything that Jordan wants those who judge his mom to realise, it's that tattoos don't define people. "My mum has more tattoos than I can count and it has never, ever affected her work ethic," he wrote. "She will wake up at the same time everyday and save a life."
