Netflix's Latest Dating Show Spotlights Young Adults With Autism — Watch the Touching Trailer

A new docuseries will shed light on an underrepresented dating experience. Coming to Netflix on July 22, Love on the Spectrum explores the first dates, romances, and long-term relationships of young adults on the autism spectrum. The recently released trailer is — much like dating itself — at times sweet, funny, and heartbreaking.

In addition to following various singles as they navigate courtship, the four-part series also includes appearances from a relationship coach and a clinical psychologist specialising in autism spectrum disorders, who then offer their expertise and advice.

In a statement obtained by Entertainment Weekly, director Cian O'Clery said, "As a storyteller I felt we had an opportunity to explore this issue by shining a light on the struggles many people on the spectrum face in seeking out meaningful relationships." He added, "I hope this series will start conversations, help bring about understanding and acceptance, and ultimately inspire people with autism, their families, and society at large to find ways to help people on the spectrum find love."
