This Couple Hiked a Mountain at Dawn For Their Elopement, and the Pictures Are Breathtaking

New Hampshire Outdoor Adventure Elopement

Growing up in the same hometown in New Hampshire, Casey and Kurtis have known each other since they were kids. The pair would see each other in the hallways at school and occasionally hang out in the same circles, but it wasn't until their senior year of high school that their love story began.

Dating throughout college, the duo quickly moved to Denver, Colorado upon graduating to start their lives together. Kurtis proposed a few years later, in December 2018. "She thought she was just going out to lunch with her friends, but they helped guide her to where I was waiting: in front of Union Station in Denver, where I popped out and got on one knee," Kurtis told POPSUGAR.

It didn't take long after their engagement for the couple to start planning their 2020 wedding — a multiple-day event with all their closest friends and family in New Hampshire — that, due to COVID-19, unfortunately, was cancelled. But as one door closes, another door opens, and their altered wedding day turned out to be everything they could have dreamed of and more: a sunrise elopement on top of Mount Willard in New Hampshire, where they went on one of their first hiking trips.

"As it turns out, we were MEANT to elope!" Casey told POPSUGAR. "Our vision for our day completely shifted and just revolved solely around our wants and desires. We wanted to wake up early enough to catch the sunrise, we wanted to hike with our dog, have a mountaintop picnic, and just savour every second. Eloping was the most perfect and intimate way to spend our special day."

The day was filled with laughs, Champagne, beautiful views, and a lot of love. Keep reading to see all of the magical photos from Casey and Kurtis's special day.
