Prince Charles's New Terra Carta "Earth Charter" Makes Sustainability a Priority For All Businesses
Princes Charles continues his commitment to a more sustainable future by introducing the Terra Carter "Earth Charter", which encourages all businesses to adopt sustainable practices by 2030. The announcement is part of the Princes of Wales's Sustainable Markets Initiative and provides a road map to the private sector for aligning sustainability with a profitable economy.
"Time is fast running out, and we are rapidly wiping out through mass extinctions, many of nature's unique treasure trove of species from which we can develop innovative and sustainable products for the future. It is critical that we accelerate and mainstream sustainability into every aspect of our economy," said Princes Charles in a public announcement for RE:TV. "To that end, I am launching the 'Terra Carta' as the basis of a recovery plan for nature, people, and planet. The fundamental rights and value of nature lie at the heart of the 'Terra Carta' and represent a step-change in our 'future of industry' and 'future of economy' approach. Timelines for change must be brought forward if we are to make a transformative shift by the end of the decade and before it is, quite literally, too late."
