Alexis Ohanian Just Made the Most Inspirational Video For Serena, and I'm Literally Crying
Between absolutely crushing the tennis game, wearing a full-on tutu on the court, and being an incredible mom to her baby daughter Alexis Olympia (despite having life-threatening pregnancy complications), Serena Williams is one hell of a role model. In a recent Instagram post, Alexis Ohanian put that very sentiment into a video for his wife, and we're completely blown away.
"She fought for her life, for our child, for recognition, for equal pay, for women's rights," he wrote in his caption. "She never gives up. She's passionate and unrelenting and the most inspiring person I know."
Just watching the video once brought tears to our eyes. Not only has Serena dealt with her fair share of health problems over the last year, but she's also a first-time mom — an insane accomplishment in and of itself — and a tremendous athlete. But guess what? Despite her recent setbacks, she's headed to the finals of the US Open. If that's not the epitome of impressive, we don't know what is.
"I had this made for Serena last night after her match with some home videos from one year ago this week," added Alexis. "Help me make sure she sees it!" He finished off his post with an #iloveyouserena hashtag, and no, there's no way he could be any more supportive of his wife.
