Popsugar Parenting Andy Grammer Andy Grammar Pays a Check For 5 Women's Breakfasts The Reason Andy Grammer Picked Up a Bill For 5 "Super Cute" Older Women Will Bring You to Tears 2 July 2018 by Alessia Santoro Was sitting at breakfast in Hampton Beach and across the restaurant were five SUPER CUTE elderly ladies. I don’t know why but it made me miss my mom hard and I felt a strong urge to pick up their check. I don’t know them and didn’t want to bother them but I just did it. Then I was just gonna leave cause a lot of times it’s better to just do nice deeds without asking for acknowledgment but something felt like I should tell them I missed my mom, like they might like to hear that. So I walked over and said “you are five of the sweetest ladies I’ve ever seen, I lost my mom awhile back and something about seeing you made me miss her this morning so I’m getting your check.” The lady on the end popped up with arms wide open and said “COME HERE, I lost my son and really needed this.” And then she gave me a mom hug I needed and I gave her a son hug she needed. Recently, the singer, who said on Instagram on the nine-year anniversary of his mom's death that he attributes some of his success to her "pulling strings through the universe," was eating breakfast in Hampton Beach when he came across five "super cute" older women who reminded him of his mom. "I don't know why but [they] made me miss my mom hard and I felt a strong urge to pick up their check," he wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of himself in which he appeared to be on the brink of sobbing. "I don't know them and didn't want to bother them, but I just did it." The singer wrote that he thought about leaving afterward because he didn't do the deed for the acknowledgment, but something made him feel that they would like to hear that the reason he did it was simply because he missed his mom. "So I walked over and said, 'You are five of the sweetest ladies I've ever seen; I lost my mom awhile back and something about seeing you made me miss her this morning, so I'm getting your check.' The lady on the end popped up with arms wide open and said 'COME HERE, I lost my son and really needed this.' And then she gave me a mom hug I needed and I gave her a son hug she needed. We are all so connected." We're not even going to lie about it — we're totally crying. Related: What It's Like Being a Paycheck-to-Paycheck Mom Today is 9 years since my sweet mother left this world. I brought my little Louisiana K Grammer to her grave site this morning and it was extra special sweet. I remember standing at this spot shell shocked as we lowered her body into the ground. All I knew was I had lost my center, that there was a huge whole in my world and that it could never be filled. Little did I know having a mother on the other side can be pretty special too. I am not foolish enough to think that any of my success has been without the help of a badass mother pulling strings through the universe. I love you mom. We put the K in the middle of her name so she will always have you in the middle of her life. I hope she will have your playfulness, your spirit, your sense of justice, your love of chocolate, your faith, and your thirst for depth in life. One thing for sure is that she’s already got your blue eyes. This life is beautiful, but it becomes even more beautiful when you are forced to face the fact that there is more to this life then this life. To all those who have lost someone close to them, they are around... It’s a mystical relationship that never ends. Sending love to wherever you are my sweet mother. #louieinstagrammer #mom A post shared by Andy Grammer (@andygrammer) on Jan 3, 2018 at 4:32pm PST 1 / 3 Happy Mother's Day to one of the best Moms to ever crush the mom game.
