Barack Obama Visits Children's Hospital For Christmas 2018

Barack Obama Dances While Delivering Gifts at a Children's Hospital — That's the Santa I Believe In

Former US President Barack Obama brightened a few young faces on Dec. 19 when he visited patients and their families at Washington DC's Children's National hospital. The surprised kids spotted their "Stand-In Santa," aka the 44th president, decked out in a red hat and carrying a sack of toys.

In a video released by the hospital, Barack can be seen dancing into patients' rooms as he spread joy. He delivered gifts, gave hugs, and took selfies with the patients and staff.

"I just want to say thank you to all of you guys," he said in the video. "I had a chance to talk to some of the wonderful kids. At a time that is obviously tough for folks, and as a dad of two girls, I can only imagine . . . to have nurses and staff and doctors and people who are caring for them and looking after them and listening to them and there for them and holding their hand — that's the most important thing there is. What a great reminder of what the holiday spirit's supposed to be all about."
