Best Baby Girls Names From Reddit

20 of the Most Popular Names For a Baby Girl, According to Reddit

Reddit's "Name Nerds" have ranked the very best girls' names, and some of the picks might surprise you. The popular subreddit has over 70,000 subscribers who are obsessed with all things name-related: think female baby names, pet names, celebrity names, and more. Frequent posters voted for their favorite girls' names of all time, and over 1,770 girls' names were submitted. User Lyd_Euh collated the results, and classic names seemed to reign supreme, with Eleanor, Elizabeth, and Violet claiming the top spots. (This was true for the list of best boy names, as well!)

However, choices varied depending on region. Despite Elizabeth being the second most popular name, it only received one solitary vote from people in Europe. Interestingly, Alice and Matilda tied as most popular names in the region, while Eleanor was most popular in North America, and Violet was most popular in Australasia. Names beginning with the letter A had the most votes, though Alice and Amelia were the only ones to eventually appear in the top 20.
