These 12 Disney World Restaurants are the Perfect Places to Feed Your Hangry Family

Over at Hollywood Studios, 50's Prime Time Cafe is the place to be for American comfort food. Your whole family will love this restaurant, since it's more of a dining experience than just a place to sit down and grab a quick bite. All of the cast members who work here are "cousins," and you're part of the family, meaning that you're in charge of setting your own table, practising good dining manners (no elbows on the table!), and eating all of your vegetables. If one of your kiddos finishes everything on their plate, they might even get a "clean plate club" sticker and have their accomplishment announced to the whole dining room!

If your kiddos love The Jungle Cruise at Magic Kingdom Park, then they will absolutely love eating in a restaurant based on the iconic attraction, skippers and all! We think that most of the adult meals are big enough to share with kids, but if they want their own meal, we love the kids steak or crispy chicken.

Whispering Canyon Cafe is one of our favourite restaurants at Walt Disney World for families, especially for breakfast. While their traditional American breakfast fare is delicious, the restaurant is really known for all the ruckus and fun that happens while dining. Kids get to gallop around the restaurant on stick horses and take part in wild games during mealtime.

If your family needs a place to sit, relax, enjoy a meal, and cool down for a while at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, we highly suggest going to Satu'li Canteen inside Pandora — The World of Avatar. Not only are the kids meals superfun (hello cheeseburger steamed pods!), but you get free refills at the drinks stations here, which is rare at a Disney restaurant.

Harambe Market is often overlooked at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park in favour of Flame Tree BBQ, but we don't think it should be. We love that kids can get ribs or grilled chicken here, while adults can get something a little more adventurous, like a beef and lamb gyro. If you sit close to the fence at the back of the space, your kids can even watch the train go by as other guests go to or come back from Rafiki's Planet Watch.

Character dining at Walt Disney World is superpopular. But if you have a little kid who especially loves princesses, we highly suggest Akershus Royal Banquet Hall at Epcot's Norway pavilion for the princess dining experience. The restaurant serves American-style breakfast and Norwegian-inspired lunch and dinner. We love Akershus because not only do you get to see multiple Disney princesses in one meal, but it's a much easier reservation to get than Cinderella's Royal Table.

Chef Mickey's has been a dining staple at Disney's Contemporary Resort for over 20 years! Kids will love seeing Mickey and the gang in their supercute chef outfits, all while loading up at the waffle bar. The restaurant also allows you to grab the monorail after breakfast to head to Magic Kingdom Park to walk off some of those waffle creations.

One of the most sought-after reservations at Walt Disney World is at Be Our Guest Restaurant. But it's worth the extra effort to get a reservation. Here, guests of all ages are transported into the story of Beauty and the Beast! If you're planning on dining here at dinner, your whole family will get to meet Beast after you eat. We love this restaurant for how kid-friendly the atmosphere is — and the food is superyummy. Try the grey stuff, it's delicious.

Hollywood and Vine is one of the most fun character dining options at Walt Disney World. The restaurant offers two different experiences for guests to enjoy. At breakfast, Hollywood and Vine turns into the Disney Junior Play and Dine with favourite Disney Junior friends like Vampirina. During lunch and dinner, Minnie and her friends take over, with seasonal parties like Halloween and Holiday, featuring festive outfits and seasonal menu items.

Over at Disney Springs, Chicken Guy! is the perfect place for families to grab a bite before heading back to their room for a little rest, or exploring all that Disney Springs has to offer. The restaurant is owned in part by Guy Fieri, so you know you're going to be on a trip to Flavour Town. Chicken Guy! serves up chicken strips, sandwiches, and other concoctions all for under $10 and with over 20 different sauce options.

The Polite Pig is serving up some of the best BBQ at Walt Disney World, along with some amazing kid-friendly sides like sweet potato tots and macaroni and cheese! The restaurant is just off the Lime Garage when you enter Disney Springs, and on hot days, you can smell the BBQ in the car park — it's hard to resist. Adult portions here are big enough to share, and we even think the kids meals are big enough for adults.

As we learned in Disneyland, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is home to one of the best quick service locations at the parks, Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. This is where kids can munch on a space version of fried chicken and mac and cheese or shrimp and noodles. If your family loves Star Wars, this is going to be the place to be once Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opens Aug. 29 at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
