If you've ever sat in your car at a stoplight and watched an elderly person struggle to cross the street before the light turned green, you may have thought about helping — but then reality probably sunk in, and you realised how impractical it would be to get out of your car and potentially halt traffic in order to do such a simple act of kindness.

Thankfully, kids don't think the same way adults do. At least not Maurice Adams, an 8-year-old boy from Georgia, who was sitting in his mom's car when he looked out the window and noticed an elderly woman with a walker having a hard time getting around.

"He was like, 'Mom, can I help her go up the steps?'" Maurice's mother, Contricia Hill, told 13WMAZ News [3]. "I said, 'Sure,' so he jumped out."

Maurice not only helped the woman across the street, but he stood by her and supported her as she made her way up a flight of steps. At the top, the woman stopped to hug him before he bounded back down and into his mom's car.

The boy's selflessness did cause traffic to stop, but for good reason. A passerby, Riley Duncan, pulled over to capture the sweet moment on video, which has since gone viral. It's been viewed more than a million times, perhaps because it's a perfect reminder that, when we see an opportunity to do something, we should think more like a kid . . . more like Maurice.
