Chip and Joanna Gaines haven't let raising five kids stop them from focusing on the little things. In a new Instagram post, Joanna Gaines revealed a sweet tradition that her husband has done with each new baby.
"Chip started a tradition with Drake where he wore the hospital bracelet until it fell off," Joanna wrote alongside the photo of newborn baby Crew sleeping on his daddy's lap. And around Chip's wrist is the white paper band. "Looks like the tradition lives on."
The couple has never before shared this lovely custom – one that Chip instituted with Drake, 13, and continued with Ella, 11, Duke, 10, and Emmie, 8 – and we're more than a little bummed that we didn't know about it sooner. It's such a simple yet beautiful way to cherish and honour those fleeting first weeks of an infant's life.
Once again, the Gaines family reminds us what really matters.
