Dad Picks Up the Wrong Dog From PetSmart

This Dad Picked Up the Wrong Dog From the Groomer, and We Can't Freakin' Breathe

After bringing home their 10-year-old Maltese, Nieves, from the groomer at PetSmart, one dad was convinced his son Alex was pranking him by saying the dog he brought home wasn't their beloved pooch. That is until the 22-year-old's brother agreed — this wasn't Nieves prancing around their home, it was an imposter. In a now-viral tweet, Alex shared that his dad "didn't notice" the dog wasn't theirs until he and his brother told him and included a video of the pair laughing as the dog wagged its tail around the strange house.

"MY DAD TOOK MY DOG TO PETSMART TO GET GROOMED AND HE CAME BACK WITH A DIFFERENT DOG AND DIDN'T NOTICE UNTIL MY BROTHER AND I TOLD HIM SOMETHING," Alex wrote in his tweet. He added in an interview with BuzzFeed: "My brother and I died of laughter and asked why he would take the dog home if he thought something was off. He said, 'I thought I was getting old and my eyes were betraying me.'"

As it turns out, there were two Malteses waiting to be picked up by their owners when the dad headed to PetSmart originally, so he packed up the other dog in the car again to go retrieve Nieves. "He said, 'Yeah, I have to fix this before mom gets home,'" Alex recalled.

While at the groomer the second time, Alex's dad didn't want to take any chances, so he texted the family group chat a photo of the other Maltese to ensure she was actually Nieves.

As can be expected, the internet had a field day with the string of tweets.

Dads are just the damn best.
