Dead Unicorn Cakes

If You're So F*cking Over Unicorns, the "Dead" Unicorn Cake Trend Was Made For You

First there were picture-perfect, Instagram-ready unicorn cakes. Then came fat unicorn cakes. And now, "dead" unicorn cakes are on the brink of taking over social media, likely due to the fact that the mythical horn-topped creatures have fully inundated every facet of our lives over the past few years.

Though the first few dead unicorn cakes ever shared on social media are a bit gory and feature red icing to mimic blood, it looks like Instagram user naturally.jo was the first person to go the less-graphic route, crafting a white fondant-covered unicorn-shaped cake that reveals gorgeous rainbow-coloured layers when sliced. Since the 17-year-old (yep, you read that correctly) shared his dead unicorn cake masterpiece with his followers, a few others have followed suit, creating their own renditions. It's truly only a matter of time before these completely take over your Instagram feed because let's face it: it's time to kiss the unicorn trend goodbye.
