Cardi B doesn't want a sugarcoated version of motherhood — she wants the real, raw experience that is parenting your first child [3]. In a recent Instagram post, the new mother reflected on her upbringing [4], and how involved her family has been since she and husband Offset welcomed their first child, Kulture Kiari Cephus [5].
"I'm a very blessed person. I know y'all see all the blessings that God be giving me in my life, but one thing is that I've been blessed since birth. I've been blessed since I came out my mom's vagina because of my parents. Those are my biggest blessings, and I'm so thankful and I'm so grateful for them," Cardi B said in a video in which she's holding a toy monkey.
She added, "My mom hasn't left my sight, not one time. This is her first grandkid, the last time she had a kid was 22 years ago, so this is all new to her again, just as it is new to me. . . [My sister] is such a good helping hand, and my dad is just running errands for me in New York. I have not gotten a nanny yet, I just want to learn how to be a mom, and I want to enjoy every single second of it since I'm going back to work. I'm just really grateful."
Cardi thanked God for her "amazing" parents [7], and we also have a feeling their hands-on help is inspiring Cardi in the type of mother she is. She's proving that it truly does take a village [8], and although she doesn't have the help of a nanny [9] yet, Cardi appreciates all the time and love her family is giving to baby Kulture. While the 25-year-old rapper previously said she's going to keep her daughter out of the public eye [10] until she's "at least 5 or 6 months old," we already know this cutie is in good hands.
