Double Dare Returning to Nickelodeon Summer 2018

Attention '90s Kids: Double Dare Is Returning, and Marc Summers Is Definitely Involved!

Attention, '80s and '90s kids! We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming for a very important message: Double Dare is coming back to Nickelodeon this Summer! And no, not just repeats of the old episodes you know and love (though we'd be OK with this, too), but 40 brand-new episodes of the classic game show featuring a new generation of kids. So get ready to answer the question or take the physical challenge, because things are about to get MESSY.

The original series, which aired from 1986 to 1993 and featured Marc Summers as its host, was Nick's most popular game show and went on to branch off into three other shows: Super Sloppy Double Dare, Family Double Dare, and Double Dare 2000. For those who don't completely remember the premise, two teams of two compete to win prizes (back then, the best prize was a trip to Space Camp). After successfully answering a series of questions and completing messy, physical challenges, one team moves on to face "the infamous obstacle course," which featured tasks such as the human hamster wheel, the gigantic mouth, and the "iconic Double Dare nose."

Unfortunately, Summers won't be hosting the new episodes, but we can expect to see him around — he'll be providing "colour commentary" during the challenges, according to People. The new host, Lisa Koshy, sure does have big shoes to fill, but we're rooting for her. We can't freakin' wait for the premiere and are even more excited to be able to introduce our kids to the old classic.
