French Bouygues Holiday Commercial Shows Father-Son Bond

This Sweet Christmas Ad Proves There's Some Things You Can't Understand Until You're a Parent

We've all been embarrassed by our parents, and perhaps some of us have already begun the timeless tradition of embarrassing our own kids in return. In a new festive commercial, those sweet-yet-cringe-worthy moments will make you yearn for more.

The 90-second ad — which is marketing the French telecom brand Bouygues — tells the story of a father and son through the years.

It starts off with the doting dad showcasing his less-than-slick dance moves to his baby boy to the tune of "Come and Get Your Love" by Redbone. The kid loves it, but as he grows into a teenager and then a young man, his dad's routine is a source of utter embarrassment. That is, until he becomes a father himself. In a video call on a new Bouygues phone that he left under his dad's Christmas tree, he shows himself dancing to the very same tune with his own baby.

In what might be the most endearing festive commercial of the year, it's proof positive that there are some things you can't possibly understand until you are a parent yourself.
