1. Pumpkin Patch Hunting
Sure, you could get their pumpkin at the grocery store, but where would the fun be in that? Pumpkin patches let kids run around and find their dream pumpkin and often have other toddler-friendly activities to make it a fun day out for the whole family.
2. Costume Parades
Chances are your little one will love dressing up in their costume and jump at any chance they can get to show it off. Get together with some of your neighbours and organise a pre-Halloween costume parade for all the kids on the block.
3. Apple Picking
Whether you want to bake an apple pie with them or teach them how to bob for apples, you're going to need the key ingredient all Fall long. And since toddlers love being big helpers, apple picking is a great way for them to get ready for Halloween and help you brainstorm the fun treats they can eat with them later.
4. Face Painting
It doesn't have to be spooky, but face painting gives toddlers a chance to develop their imaginations and really get creative with being someone (or something) else. From pretty butterflies to spooky skeletons, the possibilities are endless.

5. Carving Pumpkins
If your toddler is a little older or isn't afraid of getting their hands dirty, have them help carve pumpkins. They can draw funny faces and shapes on the pumpkin and you can carve, and they'll be so amazed once a candle is placed inside and the pumpkin lights up! As an added bonus, they'll get to eat yummy pumpkin seeds after.
Keep the fun rolling with pumpkin bowling. Take a small pumpkin and have your toddler or toddlers try to knock over pins made out of soda bottles or toilet paper rolls dressed as ghosts.
This easy craft lets children help with the Halloween decor. Simply save some orange juice bottles, get yourself some glue, eyes, and pipe cleaners, and you're good to go.
Precut some mask shapes like cat eyes, owls, and bears, and have kids paint them however they want. Creating something messy is half the fun!
Just like the classic game of Pin the Tail on the Donkey, this one features a fun spider theme.
Chances are this activity will get pretty messy, and that's OK! For toddlers who don't like the feeling of gooey pumpkin guts when carving, stick to painting to create little works of art you can put on your front porch.
