After confirming that they were pregnant with their second child together [2] on July 10, country singer Jason Aldean and his wife Brittany Kerr shared a video of their gender reveal on Instagram on Aug. 12 [3] — and it's a girl! And the cutest part of all? Jason and Miranda already knew the baby's gender — they just wanted Jason's daughters Kendyl, 10, and Keeley, 15, to get in on the fun.
"Jason and I already know what it is, so this is just for the girls, to see their excitement," explained Brittany. And apparently, Keeley and Kendyl were dying to found out the verdict. Jason said that "it's the only thing [Kendyl's] talked about for the last month," so, of course, they got the news in a big way.
But the road to pregnancy hasn't been easy for the 31-year-old mom, who relied on in vitro fertilization (IVF) to get pregnant with their son Memphis, as well as their new little girl. In fact, she said the fertilization process was "harder than the actual pregnancy" [5] with her first. Regardless of the rollercoaster of emotions that come with IVF, Jason and Miranda agreed that giving Memphis a sibling who was close to him in age would be well worth it.
"After having our son, we knew we wanted to have two kids [6]," Jason told People in July. "I have my two older daughters already, so after Memphis was born we knew we wanted to have another one pretty quick — to go ahead and knock it out and have one that was a little closer in age to him."
