Now that Chip and Joanna Gaines are back home settling in to life with a newborn, they are finally realising just how wild it is to be back in the baby phase after such a long hiatus.

"I have forgotten almost everything, so it feels brand-new," Joanna told People in an exclusive interview [3] in advance of their son Crew's June 21 birth [4].

Up until their latest addition, the Fixer Upper stars didn't let more than two years go by between kids, but now the parents to sons Drake, 13, and Duke, 10, and daughters Ella, 11, and Emmie, 8, are looking at an eight-year age gap between their youngest two.

"We think about things like when Emma goes off to college, this little one will only be 10," she said. "It's just crazy to think how wide that gap is, but Chip just loves hang out with the kids, and it's just such a sweet thing."

Also sweet? Having a baby at 40 has actually made her feel young again. "I tell Chip that I feel 25, and in my mind, there's something about it that gives me an extra kick in my step."

If the idea of Crew being the only kiddo — once his older siblings grow up and move out of the Gaines family home — has you wondering about Baby number six, Chip and Joanna haven't shared any plans.

But Joanna has certainly teased fans about a repeat pregnancy:

"We're looking forward to what's to come, and what's to come, we have no idea," Joanna said. "I think one thing about me and Chip is that we never like to look really far in advance and plan, that's never been how we are. I joke with my friends that I'm going to be that 45-year-old who's pregnant."
