Kate Hudson is not afraid to talk about coparenting with the world, and honestly, we could all learn a lot from her. She was a recent guest on Laura Wasser's Divorce Sucks! podcast, People noted, and she opened up about maintaining relationships with the three different fathers of her three children. Kate is mom to Ryder Robinson (15), Bingham Hawn Bellamy (seven), and Rani Rose Hudson Fujikawa (five months). The actress was married to Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson for seven years before dating Muse frontman Matt Bellamy for four years, and she welcomed her baby girl with her current boyfriend, Danny Fujikawa. She's friends with her exes, and coparenting with a positive attitude is a huge priority for her.

"As much as I would say I don't recommend it to most, my situation is quite amazing," Kate said on the podcast. She shared details about how they all make it work (communication is key), and why she watches what she says around the kids. Read more of what she had to say below, and see pictures of her sweet family ahead.

  • On her exes getting along with each other: "They all get along. It's funny and we laugh about it. I never thought my life would look like that, but it is what it is. All I care about is happy kids, and we all make that the priority."
  • On coparenting with Matt: "Matt and I, we have a great way of talking to each other about Bing and instilling the same rules in the house. We find that to be really important for Bing to feel that there's, 'No, you're not going to get away with anything in each other's house. Mommy and Daddy are on the same page.'"
  • On coparenting with Chris: "Chris and I, we're good. It's kind of funny too — Ryder really can't get away with anything."
  • On not saying negative things in front of the kids: "I think the one thing that I learned from my mom is that no matter what you're feeling and no matter what — when I see my friends talking sh*t about their ex-spouses in front of their kids, I get so upset because they don't recognise how much that affects their child and how resentful their child will become of them. No matter what, I never heard a bad word about my father."
