1 Reality Star Is Getting Shamed For Putting Her 6-Year-Old Son in the Booster Seat — and Where Does It End?
After posting an Instagram photo of her 6-year-old son Kash on the way to school, Real Housewife of Atlanta Kim Zolciak-Biermann is getting mom-shamed for putting her son in a booster seat.
She shared the photo on Dec. 12 with the caption, "My baby Kash on the way to school this morning! He is such a BIG BOY he is only 6," she wrote. "He melts me. His heart is unreal."
Although her post was innocent enough, it didn't take long for people to criticize her in the comments section. "Omg he looks like a teenager," wrote one person. "I know the law permits 8-year-olds to be in car seats but this is a big 6-year-old LOSE THE SEAT." Another chimed in saying: "He is huge for 6-year-old. He looks too big for that car seat for sure, he probably does not need it because of his weight."
According to AAA, children between the ages of 4 and 8 who weigh less than 80 pounds or are shorter than 4'9" should ride in a booster seat. And some of Kim's fans were quick to jump to her defence, pointing out that there's no shame in following the rules. "He is a big 6-year-old but if he wasn't in the booster seat the seat belt wouldn't be in the right place," wrote one person. "Better safe then sorry!"
The bottom line? Mom-shaming is never OK, especially when it comes to kids' safety.
