Lin's Original Tweet
Lin-Manuel Miranda was given the most hilarious, all-caps praise from a dads' group text in the subtlest way. While on a bus on Dec. 20, "because the A train was f*cked," Lin was nudged by the guy standing behind him, who slyly showed him his phone, which was open to a group chat called "Juggler & Dads." In the exchange, Jay, the man on the bus, told his dad friends that he was "directly in front of Lin-Manuel Miranda," and from there, hilarity ensued.
One of his friends, Bobby, lost his ever-loving mind, hit the caps-lock key, and never looked back. "TELL HIM YOU LOVE HIS WORK," Bobby wrote. "HUGE FAN OF YOUR WORK. THANK YOU FOR MOANA. THANK YOU FOR HAMILTON."
At this point, Bobby unravels a bit, and his sh*t gets more and more lost with each passing text. "DAMNIT JAY, JUST SAY IT. THANK YOU FOR MOANA. YOUR FRIEND HAS A COUPLE CUTE KIDS THAT KNOW WHAT A HERO LOOKS LIKE AND A HERO IS A GIRL."
Jay, probably trying to stifle hysterical laughter at his friend's outburst, slid his phone into Lin's line of vision to share the love. "To the dude next to me on the bus . . . who just quietly showed me this while I was with my kid, so that he was none the wiser, thank you," Lin tweeted along with a photo of Jay's phone.
Not only were Bobby's comments so hilariously pure, but the way Jay handled the situation while Lin was on the bus with his son Sebastian was even cuter. Dads for the win!
