Man Learns How to Style Wife's Hair After Stroke

Man Learning How to Style Wife's Hair After She Suffers a Stroke Is the Kind of Love People Dream About

Those classic marital vows – "in sickness and in health" – might not mean much on one's wedding day, but they were brought to life in the most heartwarming way at a Texas hair salon last week.

Andrew and Theresa have been married for 45 years, but after his wife suffered a stroke 18 years ago, she has had issues doing her own hair. After their three kids chipped in on a gift certificate this month to The Foundry Salon in New Braunfels, Texas, Andrew went one step further. He asked stylist Raigen Kelly for a tutorial.

"Proof that true love really exists."

"Proof that true love really exists," Raigen wrote on Facebook. "She can no longer style her hair herself and her husband insisted on learning how to do it for her step by step. From products, to the way you hold the brush and dryer."

In the video, Raigen patiently explains how to use a few basic hair tools to create more volume in Theresa's locks. Andrew, holding the blowdryer, nods and asks followup questions after witnessing a curl take hold. He's learning a new skill, and his determination is evident.

"Truly one of the best things I have been able to witness in my life," Raigen said of the couple. "It brought tears to my eyes. What an amazing man and what a lucky woman."
