Serena Williams's Living Room

If You Want to Know How Motherhood Changes You, Look at This 1 Photo of Serena Williams

Serena Williams is throwing her arms up. Any first-time parent can tell you that having a baby will change your life, but the 37-year-old mama is epitomizing a huge aspect of first-time motherhood in one simple photo, and it'll make every parent giggle. On Thursday morning, Serena shared a photo on Instagam of the reality of her living room, or, what once was her living room and is now a playroom filled with toys and blocks. "Sometimes I have to throw my hands up in the air," she captioned the photo above. "#thismama used to have a living room. Now I just have a play room. When did that happen?"

Well, Serena, it probably happened about a year ago when you gave birth to the ever-adorable Olympia! While Serena has filled our feeds with sweet photos of her and hubby Alexis Ohanian's 1-year-old daughter, she's always giving us parenting realness, and this photo totally captures the beauty of it all. Whether she's opening up about postpartum depression, breastfeeding, or the struggle of going back to work, Serena is constantly keeping it real, and we love her for it.

Parents have chimed in on Serena's post in the comments, sharing their own living room to playroom transformations. "Welcome to Motherhood... soon you won't be able to go to the bathroom by yourself, and the list goes on!!! It surely is a blessing tho!!" one mom explained. Another added, "Mine is officially a Lego room." The best comment has to be from the mom who dubbed this photo "the Olympia Effect."
