A Disney Princess Sweetly Stepped In to Soothe a Boy With Autism at Disney World
A mother who recently took a trip to Disney World with her family is now going viral for a touching post she shared about her experience at the park. Lauren Bergner took to Facebook on Aug. 25 to share a story about how Snow White stepped in to help when her 6-year-old son who has autism had an episode during their visit.
Bergner's son, Brody, is non-verbal. According to her post — which includes a series of photos showing Snow White consoling him — Brody began to have a meltdown while the family was standing in line to meet the Disney princess at Epcot. "He was crying and was overwhelmed and just having a hard time," she wrote. Snow White was able to deduce that Brody had special needs, and she ended up pulling him away from the crowd for a moment to comfort him.
"She was magical and my family is forever thankful and touched!"
"Snow White was amazing with him!! She kissed, hugged and cuddled him," Bergner went on. "He was laying his head crying on her lap. She then took him for a walk away from the crowd! She was amazing. She held his hand, danced with him, took him over to a bench and sat with him. She went above and beyond!! She took so much time with him. She was a pure angel! She was magical and my family is forever thankful and touched!"
Bergner's post has already received 250,000 reactions on Facebook and has been shared over 75,000 times. She's since reached out to Disney and her Facebook network for help in finding Snow White's contact information in order to share her family's touching story. Read Bergner's full post above.
