"First and foremost, I would imagine that to the seniors that know who I am, it is entirely unexpected that I would be standing here giving this speech," said student Sef Scott in his Plano Senior High School graduation speech [1]. The speech was "unexpected" because the senior has autism and a social communication disorder. As a result, he rarely chooses to speak. "While I have the vocabulary that you do and the ability to physically produce spoken words, it is not a normal thing for me to electively speak," Sef said.

In his inspiring address, Sef explained that he was inspired by his brother, who is a brain tumor survivor and regularly gives speeches to raise money for various children's charities. Sef also imparted some advice for his fellow graduates, urging them to do the unexpected by helping those around them in subtle and everyday ways. "In your lives, going forward after high school, the unexpected from you can be a blessing to those around you," he said.
