Recently, I stumbled upon a cleaning hack on Instagram involving a "toy jail" that pulls double duty: it keeps the house clean [5] and gets your kids to do chores [6], and it's too clever not to share.
All you need is a large plastic bin and a permanent marker to get your point across. "TOY JAIL," it reads. "You left it out and I picked it up, I've got your stuff and you're out of luck, to get it back please do a chore, then it's yours just like before."
Yep, it's flippin' genius. Now all we need is the Marie Kondo stamp of approval, right?!
